Abstract

For reorienting the curriculum, UN suggests the education for sustainable development for the future lifelong education till 2014. This study examines the integration and application of education for sustainable development to reorient the curriculum of early childhood education. First, the analyzing theory and history of education for sustainable development is applied for the early childhood education. Second, the applying the contents and pedagogy of education for sustainable development is implied for reorienting early childhood curriculum. The results suggest the reorienting curriculum of early childhood education including reconstructing the contents related social cultural, environmental, and economic area, and transforming the pedagogy based on the 7R's.
