Abstract
The objective of this study is to clearly determine the idea of early childhood education for sustainable development through investigating educational policy, trends, and national curriculum in Korea. In this study various literature on the education for sustainable development such as research papers and internet matericls are analyzed as a literature deduced in this study are as follows. First, it is necessary to enhance the direction of government policy of education for sustainable development. Second, it is necessary to reorganize the concept of education for sustainable development in the school curriculum. Third, we need to have a new understanding about the concept of education for sustainable development and environment education. Finally, linkages between all schools and local education are required.
